Hobart Trade Courses
Find out which trade courses are available for international students to study in Hobart.
Hobart
Hobart embraces diversity, which is why many people from around the world choose to live in Tasmania. Hobart is a city small enough to feel connected to the community but also large enough to have the comforts of a large city.
Studying in Hobart will provide you with the opportunity to gain an education in a modern and vibrant place, and to a live life full of adventure at your doorstep.
Due to being a smaller city, everything is close by and the cost of living is cheaper.
Living in Hobart, you will have the opportunity to visit many local boutique shops, trendy cafes, restaurants and weekly markets along with a line-up of vibrant festivals, events and internationally renowned museums and art galleries.
Tasmanians love their sport and activities, so if being part of a sports or community group interests you, you will certainly feel right at home here.
Hobart is classified as a regional area by immigration. This means students can claim an additional 5 points on the Australian Immigration Points Test for studying in a regional area and may be able to apply for a Skilled Work Regional Visa (subclass 491).
Why study a trade?
Studying the right trade or vocational course can greatly increase your chances of receiving Work Visas to Australia.
But migration can be very difficult to understand. There are so many different types of visas and so much information out there, which can make it super challenging to know what is accurate for your circumstance.
Therefore we’ve created a booklet for you that explains a pathway that has been tried and tested. Pathway to Aus has had many of its students successfully go down this path to achieve Permanent Residency.
This pathway is not for everyone, however it may be for you!
Step 1: Study a course or package of courses
Step 2: Receive the Temporary Graduate Visa
Step 3: Participate in the Job Ready Program
Your employer will not need to sponsor your visa, as you will already be on the graduate visa. This will mean that you have a much higher chance of finding employment as it is very easy for the employer to hire you. You may find this video on the Job Ready Program helpful.
