Certificate IV in Youth Work
The Certificate IV in Youth Work provides students with the qualifications, theoretical skills, practical knowledge and experience to work as a Community Development Worker, Residential Care Worker, Recreational Youth Activities Worker, Youth Case Worker, Youth Worker or Youth and Family Service Worker.
During this course you will learn how to develop and facilitate programs for young people addressing their social, behavioural, welfare, developmental and protection needs. You will also have a chance to complete practical placement in the industry to enhance your confidence and capability when entering the workforce.
Upon graduating you will have gained the skills and experience to work with diverse people, you will be confident planning and running group activities and be capable of responding to crisis situations. Completing the Certificate IV in Youth Work will qualify you to be employed as a youth worker in a number of settings including neighbourhood centres, residential settings, migrant support services, and with young people at risk.
Diploma of Youth Work
The Diploma of Youth Work provides students with the qualifications, theoretical skills, practical knowledge and experience to work as a Case Manager, Coordinator of Youth and Family Services, Senior Youth Worker, Youth Work Team Leader, Program Manager or Senior Case Worker.
During this course you will learn how to conduct group activities, manage case loads and develop and implement procedures to help young people address their needs. You will also gain the practical knowledge to identify and respond to people in crisis.
Upon graduation you will have gained knowledge and experience developing and monitoring programs and services helping to meet the social, behavioural, health, welfare and development and protection needs of young people. Completing the Diploma of Youth Work will allow you to seek employment as a Youth Worker in a variety of community settings, or in government and welfare agencies to support the goals of young people.
- You must have completed at least secondary school
- Present English language evidence

- IELTS, PTE, etc. The test result must be valid within 2 years at the time of the visa application.
- Some Education Institutions offer an in-house English Placement Test that you can take to meet the English entry requirements.
- Exemptions apply if:
– you are a citizen and hold a passport from UK, USA, Canada, NZ or Republic of Ireland
– you are enrolled in a principal course of study that is a registered school course, a standalone English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), a course registered to be delivered in a language other than English, or a registered post-graduate research course
– you have completed at least 5 years of study in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland.
