Vocational Placement is a requirement for many trade courses. A student is placed in a real life work site and receives practical training and experience on site to complement their in-class learning. It is through the vocational placement that international students can put the skills that they learn in the class room to the test. It is a similar to a standard trade apprenticeship which most Australian domestic students undertake.

Vocational Placement is offered in most trade courses such as: Carpentry, Joinery, Automotive Mechanical, Automotive Electrical, Engineering Fabrication, Bricklaying, Boat Building, Chef, Electro-Instrumentation and many more.

Below is a short video where we visit one of our Carpentry students during his carpentry vocational placement:

Generally speaking students will need to undertake at least 360 hours throughout the duration of their course in order to pass a provisional skills assessment and apply for the graduate work visa.

If you are interested in studying to a trade in Australia, contact Pathway to Aus to speak with one of our Education Agents. We can explain to you the course costs, duration and location so you better know your options.
