Scuba Diving Instructor
Students learn to become a scuba diving instructor whilst completing the Cert III and IV in Outdoor and Recreation. The qualifications gained throughout this course can lead you to a profession recognized all over the world.
The Cert III course is 46 weeks in duration. As part of the Cert III course students undertake at least 16 dives or more. This Cert III is the perfect course any beginner to intermediate divers.
Throughout the course students can gain their:
– Open Water Certifications
– Advanced Adventurer Certifications
– Diver Stress and Rescue Certification
– Diver Guide and Dive Master Certification
The Cert IV in Outdoor Leadership is 1 year in duration and includes over 100 dives! The course allows students to develop their own skills to be able to teach new divers, always under the supervision of a qualified instructor. This Course not only will prepare you to become a qualified instructor but also it will expose you to a range of very different types of divers, which will help you to develop your own teaching style.
Upon completion of the course students will be able to obtain their Open Water Instructor Certification.
What type of dives are done throughout the course:
– Boat Dives
– Reef Dives
– Beach Dives
– Wreck Dives
– Shore Dives
If you are already a certified the college can conduct practical assessments of your knowledge to confirm you meet the requirements for the next level.
- Students need to be at least 18 years old.
- Academic requirement: Completion of Australian Year 10 OR overseas equivalent.
- Present English language proficiency evidence

- IELTS, PTE, etc. (IELTS: 6.0 overall – no band less than 5.5; OR equivalent). The test result must be valid within 2 years at the time of the visa application.
- Some Education Institutions offer an in-house English Placement Test that you can take to meet the English entry requirements.
- Exemptions apply if:
– you are a citizen and hold a passport from UK, USA, Canada, NZ or Republic of Ireland
– you are enrolled in a principal course of study that is a registered school course, a standalone English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), a course registered to be delivered in a language other than English, or a registered post-graduate research course
– you have completed at least 5 years of study in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland.
