In this course you will learn a range of technical skills including how to implement network security infrastructure and detect breaches in network security, as well as essential soft skills such as stakeholder management.With technology becoming deeply embedded into our personal and professional lives and the growing rise in cloud networks, wireless networks and data storage, the shortage of cyber security skills remains a serious concern for countries around the world.

The Certificate IV in Cyber Security has been developed to provide practical skills in areas such as:

  • Identifying and reporting system vulnerabilities
  • Identifying and reporting website and system threats
  • Evaluating and reporting cyber security incidents
  • Firewall installation, configuration and management

There is a serious shortage of cyber security skills in the workforce currently. Technology is deeply rooted in our professional and personal lives and the need for skilled workers is growing fast. A recent government report estimated that Australia would need another 11,000 Cyber Security specialists over the next decade.

  1. Students need to be at least 18 years old.
  2. Academic requirement: Completion of Australian Year 10 OR overseas equivalent.
  3. Present English language proficiency evidence
      • IELTS, PTE, etc. (IELTS: 6.0 overall – no band less than 5.5; OR equivalent). The test result must be valid within 2 years at the time of the visa application.
      • Some Education Institutions offer an in-house English Placement Test that you can take to meet the English entry requirements.
      • Exemptions apply if:
        – you are a citizen and hold a passport from UK, USA, Canada, NZ or Republic of Ireland
        – you are enrolled in a principal course of study that is a registered school course, a standalone English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), a course registered to be delivered in a language other than English, or a registered post-graduate research course
        – you have completed at least 5 years of study in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland.
