NEW skills in Demand Visa in 2024

YouTube video
Australia is set to launch a new Skills in Demand visa in 2024, with three targeted pathways designed to attract skilled workers. These visas will likely replace the standard 482 visa. Essentially, these may be a rebranding of the current 482 visa (however, there are some significant differences).

New Skills in Demand Visa Pathways

  1. Specialist Skills Pathway (if you earn above $135,000)
  2. Core Skills Pathway (if you earn above $70,000)
  3. Essential Skills Pathway (if you earn below $70,000)

Specialist Skills Pathway

  • Target: Highly skilled professionals crucial to Australia’s economic growth.

    • Guaranteed annual earnings of at least AUD 135,000 (equivalent to roughly USD 93,000) – ensuring competitiveness with local workers.
    • Open to all occupations except trades, machinery operation/driving, and manual labor.
    • Fast-tracked processing within 7 days.
